Version 4.21 (Released 12/25/2013):

  • Added display of last known LTE cell information when Show Hidden Data is enabled and LTE connection is lost. (Pro)
  • Added LTE cell information and mobile data connection status to the expandable notification on Android 4.1+ devices. (Pro)
  • Added option to include logcat output from the app when sending a diagnostic report.
  • Added support for more devices to system shortcuts. (Pro)
  • Changed mobile location services warning prompt to clarify that location services may only be needed if the app does not perform as expected.
  • Changed some Sprint LTE connections to appear as “Sprint*” as a temporary indicator of likely Band 41 “Spark” connections. Evaluation and testing of this feature is ongoing and likely to change in the future.
  • Overhauled provider database functions, drastically reducing the number of queries needed; this results in less CPU, memory, and battery usage by the app.

  • Added feature providing users with the ability to send a diagnostic report for technical support.
  • Changed “Carrier” label to “Provider” for clarity and standardization.
  • Changed display of “UMTS” to “W-CDMA” for clarity and standardization.
  • Changed secondary status bar icon behavior; if only an LTE connection is active, secondary 1X or GSM icon will be hidden, regardless of preference setting. (Pro)
  • Changed system shortcut menu options and expanded support for HTC, LG, and Samsung devices; menu options are no longer manufacturer-specific. (Pro)
  • Improved reliability of Reset Data Connection feature. (Pro)
  • Overhauled main GSM screen; section(s) will now display the type of connection. Inactive connections will now be hidden.
